Config Problems

conf.php can be read-only after installation. It holds only the guild name and the info needed to contact the database. Everything else is in the DB.

It sounds like you're unable to make changes to the DB from the PHP code. Check the web server logs for error messages.

Are you blocking cookies? It looks like that's where it stores info it needs for "being logged in."

Hey guys, check out this thread: http://www.wowroster.net/index.php?name ... opic&t=119

and see if the resolution there fixes your problem.

I wonder if you're experiencing different symptoms of the same problem.

Config Problems

Postby phaseburn » Mon Jul 17, 2006 10:44 pm

I had the same problem and was just able to fix it. I'm running hardened-php as a few hosts are doing these days. I bet the culpret is your hphp.request.max_vars line in the php.ini file - it defaults to 200. I had to increase mine (I just used 500 and it worked, not sure what is the minimum required) and it works wonderfully now.

You may want to see if you can change that line in your php.ini or get your web host to. Another option is to recode wowroster to not post more than 200 vars at any one time...

Config Problems

We'll try to get this fixed for 1.7.1 by separating the config into multiple sections

It still may be a problem on the per character display part, since that will still have alot of POST variables

My hosting company does not allow me to have access to the php.ini file as I am on a shared hosting plan.

How can I overwrite the php.ini file if I don't have access or how do I recode wowroster to not post more than 200 vars at any one time?

BTW thank all of you for your help so far!
