I'm running roster 1.7 on a LAMP server in my basement using phpbb 2.0.21

I set it up and things have worked fine until recently. Myself and other guild officers have no longer been able to use the guild update password. We're pretty conviced that we have the right one. It simply ignores the request just as if there was a bad or no password entered. It does update the users toons with no problem.

When attempting to use the rosterconfig password we're continually told:

Wrong password
Just above the password window.

You can reset your password by editing the database.

Using your database administration package, go to the roster_config table, find the row with config_name='roster_upd_pw', and set the config_value for that row to the MD5 of the new admin password.

I'm also getting a wrong password error and/or have no idea what I set it to. I think I did this right but it didn't work, can someone help out?

I want to change my password (temporarily) to just 'rosterupdate', and from what I read in PleegWat's post I have to edit the table directly.

So I opened the table in phpmyadmin, changed the 'roster_upd_pw' in roster_config to the md5 of rosterupdate, which some website told me was 0870C04A9236D4628B6A1E33A28CA85C, then tried to login with rosterupdate and it still doesnt work.

So now what? Is there a "lost my password because I'm an idiot" button somewhere?

Hrm I tried it 2 or 3 times with 2 or 3 different passwords and 2 or 3 different hash creation sites with no luck. Any ideas? If I redo the installation process is there some way I can change the password but keep all the data? I guess if I reinstall it, I can just re-upload the information with uniuploader...

Enter this into phpmyadmin

And use the password admin
