Please tell me someone is working on a fix for Nuked Roster

Postby raistlan » Fri Dec 08, 2006 11:29 am

Well, just as I was getting used to roster I decided to do my site over before final launch to make sure everything was good to go, and the site was nice and clean, and Viola...Blizz destroys me! I reinstalled today only to find out that my Roster wont work all I get is:
Could not find guild in database. Please update members first.

Could not update "". Maybe its not set in configuration?

I have been reading on the site there is a fix. I even downloaded the new wowdb.php file and made the changes to upload.php to no avail. So I am here to ask the burning question.

Is there someone working on a fix for NUKE and Post WOW2 Roster? Or is there someone that can just give me information to fix, edit, amend or anything else that will allow me to upload my guild, and roster info?

You need to fix wowdb.php and update.php. Probably checking the differences in those files between 1.7.1 and 1.7.2 and making the same changes in the nuked version is enough.
Don't just replace wowdb.php and update.php by the 1.7.2 versions, cause the nuked version probably has changes in the update.php for authing.

Yeah... I couldn't make it happen either. Doesn't look like (apologies if I am mistaken) the phpnuke port is being actively maintained though... :-/

What about for a bribe? ;)

I may give this a shot. The current nuked port is roster 1.7 not 1.7.1 if i recall. What i will do is check the diff between 1.7 and the upcoming 1.7.2. I will then attempt to put those changes into the nuked 1.7. No guarantees though.

I cant wait. I tried all the downloads for the wowroster-nuke port i could find in these here forums and none of them work. I am not a php programer however i can copy n paste, and i can manage to tool around in PHPMyAdmin, allbeit dangerously.
I would just be tickled silly if i could find a working, simple to install, and configure nuked version of WowRoster (and PHPRaid) for my website. I have tried all the nuked versions i could find and some half work and some just blow errors pages in my face all day. My host is Ipowerweb with PHP-Nuke 7.8 and MySQL, and with the theme i chose unfortunately I have to use AutoTheme .87.
So if someone can get this done myself and many others out there would be very grateful. It bothers me to hear myself sound like a bum wanting someone else to do all the work for me, but my skill is just not there yet as i have only been at this stuff for a couple months now. I would love to skill up all this stuff so i can get a killer website up for my guild.

Yes, please port the new beta version, would even be cool to set something up that would take the original install no matter what wowroster puts out that would auto fix/change files for phpNuke.

I just saw that post by 3QU1N0X and I had to reiterate the agreement
I didn't want to sound rude or anything

I expect us to have a Release Candidate of 1.7.2 by this weekend, providing there are not any more bugs

Took me some time (4 days actually) to get it working, but at least I wrote down everything I did. When they release the final version, I will apply that version to my site, make the changes, and pray the same steps make it work again. I have the same setup as the other individual using IPowerweb.

Soon as Zanix and crew release the final version, I will let everyone know.

Guess I will try tackling some addons till release.

BTW, have been able to recreate a sucessful install 5 times. The new version is very solid.

Just remember about auto-theme and how it screwed up NukeRoster installs...

Yes Autotheme definately takes over alot of functions. But since I use one on my site, it was a big consideration so as not to break the appearance of the site.

Of course the quick fix is to just edit the config.php you download and remove everything above the actual config data. Then upload it to your site.

Of course, like I said, there are alot of addons still to get working, and I need to get a profile that has a pet to make sure that stuff is working. You and your team did a great job in documenting withing the code, helped alot with figuring out what needed "tweeking".

I especially liked the way you did the functions and constants.

Yeah, since version 1.5.0, we have tried to help in making porting Roster that much easier
From the css changes to directory defines and other things

The biggest thing that hurts ports are the multitude of links in Roster, we need a central link function so it can generate links based on certain parameters for use with <a href and <form action tags in html, so if you can make it generate index.php?module=Roster&file=char&name=NAME instead of char.php?name=NAME

But then every link/file/addon would have to use that function for linking..adn that would take some time to fix

auto theme usualy bug out when you have script stoping on error rather then doing a return. since you end the script auto theme doesn'T get the chance to finish it's formating.

anyone know what changed between 1.7.0 and 1.7.2 ? what file i will try to update my port and post it
