Fatal Error in Settings.php

Postby dubeno » Tue Jan 16, 2007 10:25 pm

I added the update to Roster after first getting upload errors when the new WoW patch hit. After updating the wowdb.php and luaparser.php I started getting the followin error - Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /homepages/11/d191492393/htdocs/wow/roster/settings.php on line 130.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Thanks

It looks like the roster can't connect to the database (wowdb.php). You should first check to make sure wowdb.php isn't actually named wowdb.php.txt or wowdb.txt. On Windows wowdb.php.txt could show up as wowdb.php. Make sure it's a php file by right clicking on it and checking the properties. Somewhere in the properties it should say PHP File. If it says Text Document then it needs to be renamed.

And if that doesn't help fix the problem, redownload, rename, and overwrite.

Well you tip wasn't exactly right, but when I went to my web server to check whether the file name was wrong I noticed that the byte count for the wowdb and luaparser were both 0. Oddly the file date/time stamps were correct. I sent up the files again, all fixed. Thanks for the help.
