The installation was going along just fine as near as I could tell until I clicked on "Roster Diag." On the page that came up next, I got the error

I'm new at all this and I don't understand what it means except that it is having trouble with the tables. I read the directions, and I thought I did everything it said, but I must have missed something because it's not working. What do I need to do to fix this?

This is just a notice error, it goes away when you update the guild list

The second error means that RosterDiag cannot get a list of the tables in that particular database

When I try to update the guild and character information I get the following:

Server: Emerald Dream Ignored


Emerald Dream is the realm where the guild is. I'm guessing these errors have something to do with the tables that it can't read. What do I need to do to make it read the tables?

* Do not simply upload the zip file to your provider

You should unzip to your desktop then upload the contents of the archive, and make sure to keep the file and directory structure intact!

I unzipped them and put all the files on the site with the same directory structure as they came with.

* Download the Interface Imagepack

It's easiest to unzip the files on your desktop and figure out where they go after you've done that

Yep, I did that too.

* Make sure you get all the image packs

Every time Blizzard creates new icons for items, talents, spells, etc... a new image pack is released
For full functionality, be sure to have all current image packs installed
We keep a full zip archive with the latest files, and some upgrade zip archives


And I downloaded that and put all the files where they belonged.


* Configuring Roster (*ROSTERDIR*/admin/config.php)

Copy your guild and server name directly from CharacterProfiler.lua
This is especially important if you have characters with accent marks on them
Also, all names are case sensitive. "Feathermoon" is not the same as "feathermoon"
This is mentioned in the comments, but is often overlooked


I configured everything here that I could and I double checked spellings. But something must not be right because it doesn't work. I just don't know what is messed up

* Do not worry about GuildProfiler.lua

There's nothing you need in there, either during installation or when updating information
All the info you should care about is in CharacterProfiler.lua

I ignored GuildProfiler.lua since it doesn't matter.

I did everything I can think of and it still doesn't work. What should I look at next?

Hmm, if you entered your realm and guild name in Roster config and it is still ignoring, then you probably didn't get it right

CaSe matters, spaces matter, funky character matter

All else fails, open CharacterProfiler.lua in a text editor and find your realm name and server name and copy them into Roster

If I read that correctly, it looks like the name for the server and the guild are right. What should I check next?

Very strange. I made no changes and out of stubborness went to try it again to see if the problem was still there, and everything worked. I certainly didn't make any changes, or if I did, I am unaware of doing anything. I didn't even turn off my computer. The only thing I did is go to sleep, and come back to it after I got off work. Yet for some reason it works today, but it wasn't working yesterday. These self-healing problems always make me a little nervous.

Maybe the sleep helped somehow?
