WoWRosterDF 1.7.3.0 wowdb hotfix

Postby TearSong » Fri Feb 16, 2007 10:26 pm

Even with this fix, I keep getting a database error. I've even tried to remove the database tables and do a clean install, but same thing. Any chance you know what is going on?

I have added this fix and a few other path fixes to the current download avaliable in the download section for wowrosterdf 1.7.3.0
See if that helps at all.
And where exactly and when do you get this error? Is this something I could recreate from the web to see it my self?

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Just to be sure, I downloaded the latest package and uploaded it to our site. I am afraid I can not really show anything at the moment. I removed the database tables and the entry from the modules table, so right now it's not installed. The database error already occurs when installing WoWRosterDF again from the modules admin page.

The error as displayed on the page is very vague:

A database error has occurred

The webmaster has been notified of the error

Unfortunately, I don't seem to receive any error notification. I checked my e-mailaddress, it's correct. I did receive an error quite a while ago, not related to this, but since then I've not seen any errors anymore.

If only I knew how to trigger the error e-mails again, and I could also start digging myself ;) ... any idea how to get those going again?

Try re-downloading the file, then re-upload to your server

Delete CharacterProfiler.lua & GuildProfiler.lua in your {WoW dir}/WTF/Account/{Account Name}/SavedVariables

Delete ChararacterProfiler and GuildProfiler in your WoW Addons dir. Reinstall both.

Remove the current wowdb.php then upload the fix.

Clear Cache in your browser then restart the browser.

Try to upload.

Tearsong, can you allow us to access your the WoWRosterDF Module on your site? Just remove it from the MainMenu but activate it and allow anonymous access. Someone else can try to upload one of their CP.lua files to see if it's just isolated to you.

Also can you please post server specs and versions of the running services ( OS Type and version/Apache or IIS Version/MySQL Version/PHP Version/Dragonfly version ) All of that info can be found by clicking the System Info icon in the admin section of DragonflyCMS.

I got an idea, try renaming the WoWRosterDF directory to something else.

'Roster' will work fine.. I think I know what will happen.

To clarify what I think will happen is this

I think you have some pre-existing wowrosterdf tables in your database, the installer names the tables after the parent directory name (i.e. if the directory name is WoWRosterDF the tables are name wowrosterdf). You can either rename the directory or look to see what tables are lingering in your database and remove them. After renaming the module, the installer will name the tables something else (like roster) while installing so you wont get that error since those tables do not exist.

Anyways look for and remove pre-existing 'wowrosterdf' tables or rename the directory. You can click on the Database icon in the admin section to view the tables.

Ty for the help :)

What I did now:
1) rename the wowrosterdf dir to Roster
2) deleted all wowrosterdf tables I could find
3) clicked install

Got a database error again after I clicked install, can't tell you if it's she same cause I still didn't get any emails. If I look at the database afterwards, I do see wowrosterdf tables in there (df_wowrosterdf_roster_something) and I deleted those before the install.

Is this information of any help? ;)

Ty again btw.
