Configuration Update Issue

Let me try this again:

Server Info: (Copied from Roster Diag page)

OS:
Linux

Server Software:
Apache/1.3.37 (Unix)
mod_auth_passthrough/1.8
mod_log_bytes/1.2
mod_bwlimited/1.4 PHP/4.4.4
FrontPage/5.0.2.2635.SR1.2
mod_ssl/2.8.28 OpenSSL/0.9.7a

MySQL Version:
5.0.27-standard

PHP Settings:

PHP Version 4.4.4
PHP API Type apache
safe_mode Off
open_basedir Off
allow_url_fopen On
file_uploads On
upload_max_filesize 2M

Roster Version: 1.7.3 (upgrade from 1.7.2, 1.7.2 was working and was a fresh install).

Problem:

When I click on the "Roster Config" link and go in to the settings of the roster and try and make any changes I just get a blank white screen when clicking on "Save Changes".

For example, if I am in the "Roster Config" and I click on the "Main Settings" link. Say I want to see the SQL Debug Output so I click the "On" radio button. I then click the "Save Settings" button. I get the prompt saying "This will save the changes to the database. Are you sure?" I click OK. The next thing I get is a plain white page with nothing on it. The URL shows /roster/admin.php (which is correct, as far as I know).

When I click refresh on the browser and go back to the "Roster Config" page none of the changes I just made are saved. (The SQL Debug Output is still on Off).

I have SQL Debug Output off, Debug Mode off, SQL Window off.

Any help would be appreciated.

This post won't give you any real solutions, but 1.7.3 on a plain vanilla system just, welll…. Works as advertised ;-)

How to test your ‘vanila’ system: just install another bunch of php files on it, using SQL : use i.e. phpbb (the forum – from www.phpbb.com) - its easy to install – easy to init – if it work – call Houston – if it won’t – consider another Linux system (but I tend to say that your php extensions aren’t in a good shape – or the web server for that matter).

phpbb has been installed and running just fine for months now on the same server, as well as many other php/mysql based systems.

Also, like stated, I installed 1.7.2 and it was working and then I updated to 1.7.3 and it stopped.

This is the source code of the output I get when telling it to save changes:

When I turn on "Friendly error messages" I get a 406 error. If that helps

Check your httpd error logs, sometimes there are problems running a script and the information gets put there if you're lucky...

Well, thanks for everyones help, I ended up just doing a new install. So far so good. Didnt want to have to do that but did anyways.
