Hi, I'm for the first time installing the roster for my guild to use in web page, but i'm not managing to upload the caractherprofiler.lua (version 2.0.5b) it shows only this

Parsing files

Parsed CharacterProfiler in 0.02 seconds

And doesn't do anything else, the roster password is correct I wonder what am i doing wrong.

Some people on my roster are also having this problem. Its weird it works fine for most people but there is this group of like 20 who get the same error. They have all downloaded the newest CP mod aswell from this site.

Probably just a bad lua file
Delete CP.lua and CP.lua.bak and re-grab the data

before trying to explain to your users how to delete the right files, have them hit the "clear SV contents" button in UU, and see if that works for them.

I've tried to fix the problem with your hints, but it didn't works.

first: i Delete CP.lua and CP.lua.bak and re-grab the data.

lol....it might be easier to explain to your users how to delete the right files...seeing as I have no clue what UU is...and/or where to find the "clear SV contents" button.

could it be a IE or Firefox problem? or some other "internet explorer" program? or a mac user or something?

and characterprofiler 2.05b

It would probably be handy to have some better error messages from the parser. I recall having a similar problem some time back (alas, don't recall details, and my server is down with a bad RAID card so I can't check for my patches) and I sprinkled some print statements in the failure paths to track it down.

I dont get the error so I can just copy and paste it. Also from what I am told the error just says CharacterProfile parsed: 1.20sec or something like that

I just updated the WoWRoster on my guild website, I had all members update to the latest character profile addon, and then performed a Guild Profile Update then attempted to perform the Character Profile update through the web interface. Guild Profile updated correctly.

My first assumption was a corrupt .lua so I cleaned out my local Characterprofile.lua files and re-exported the information for one character in the guild. The export succeeded I continued this for the next 5 Alts in the guild and it again worked. On the 7th and 8th characters it failed. I noted that the .lua file size was about 2MB when it last worked. With the last 2 characters included it was a little over 2.5MB. I am wondering whether the problem is a result of the large file size. Maybe http session timeouts or possibly exceeding the size anticipated by WoW Roster programmers.

I would add that I love the product more then words so please do not take my observations as criticism. I am merely trying to help what appears to be a large number of people resolve what appears to be a consistent issue. My instinct says that this is not an issue of .lua corruption. Its unlikely that numerous people within my guild would encounter the very same issue all after we implemented updates to the previous Roster.

Okay I spent some time sifting through some of the other posts. I saw someone elude to an issue with 2MB cap on uploaded files. I Ran the Roster Diags and paid much closer attention to the phpinfo() page section. Sur enough 2MB cap on uploads. In the Other Post Zanix offered a solution for a temporary directory for uploads using a different function. I am at work and unable to test it yet but I am hoping this will solve the problem. I mention this in this thread in hopes that it might solve some other peoples problems.
