Capturing PvPLog debugging information

Postby bsmorgan » Wed Mar 14, 2007 1:33 am

The instructions for capturing debugging information to help me fix the problems you report are:

1) Turn on combat log recording with /combatlog.
2) Turn on PvPLog debug output with /pl debug on.

Play until you encounter the bug and after the fight is over (30 seconds or so after you have left combat and returned to full health)...

3) Turn off PvPLog debug output with /pl debug off.
4) Turn off combat log recording with /combatlog.

After you logoff, zip your combat log found at:

"World of Warcraft\Logs\WoWCombatLog.txt",

the PvPLog.lua file found at:

"World of Warcraft\WTF\Accounts\<account>\SavedVariables\PvPLog.lua",

and finally, the PvPLog2.lua file found at:

"World of Warcraft\WTF\Accounts\<account>\<realm>\<character>\SavedVariables\PvPLog2.lua".

Create a new topic and attach the zip file you created above. In the topic you can tell me your character's name, the locale (language) of your client, a brief description of the problem, where you were (battlegrounds, world, boat, etc.), and what happened just before the problem was encountered (i.e. what do you think caused the problem).

Regards,

Brad
