HOw do i upload guild info

Postby rcoughtrey » Sat Mar 24, 2007 9:24 pm

Hey all,

i have used the standalone version of the guild roster and it all worked fine.

Howver this dragonfly version is notallowing me to upload.

i am logged into as site admin
i insalled the addon in the module
but when i upload i get the following message

Parsing files

* Parsed CharacterProfiler in 0.25 seconds

Could not find guild in database. Please update members first.Guild: Final Chapter @ Server: Deathwing Ignored
Could not update "Final Chapter". Maybe its not set in configuration?

in the stanalone build you put the admin paasword at the bottom and all updates fine.

What am i missing here, there seems to be limited instructions

Your WoWRosterDF module HAS to be set to "public" in the permissions section. If it is set for anything else such as "members only", then the upload will not work. Also, the password is not used in WoWRosterDF, so you can just ignore that the password box is even there.

You have to log into your site as the Administrator.

1) Then go to the Administration section.

2) Select "Modules".

3) Find WoWRosterDF in the list and select the "Edit" option on the right side.

4) On the "Show this to" dropdown menu, select "All Visitors".

5) Click the "Save Changes" button, and you are done.

6) Stay logged onto your site as the Administrator, and go to the WoWRosterDF.

7) Choose the "Update Profile" button and upload your profile.

Now, because WoWRosterDF is set to "All Visitors", AND you are logged into your site as the Admin, it will upload your Guild info along with your info.

P.S.- This may go without saying, but if you do not have the GuildProfiler add-on for WoW, then you cannot upload your Guild's info.

thank you for all the good info. I think the guy who installed it didnt do it right, it is not present in my modules list. I am in over my head on this one what do I do next? I can log my site www.anbloodhoof.com/roster and see the admin menu. I dont know if this is something I can handle on my own. Any suggestions?

You need to upload your WHOLE guild roster as admin 1st so that you can update the single characters.

Hello,

I am currently in the same boat. My uncle did the isntallation for me and everything is looking okay. I cannot however upload anything as it is asking for my guildroster.

I was reading this thread and saw that I needed to go to my sites administration Modules block to select WOWRosterFD however there is no option listed in my Modules block for wowroster at all.

How can I correct this issue so that I can as well use this program?

Please advise,

not to be persnickety, but setting WoWRosterDF to " public " isn't a good idea is it? Doesn't this open your roster up to allowing just anyone to upload information to your site?

also, i'm still getting 403:forbidden errors when trying to use uniuploader using th following URL:

Code: Select all
hxxp://www.blah.com/index.php?name=WoWRosterDF&file=update

and if i use a direct to file approach, the php doesn't parse correctly.. and instead of saying /modules/WoWRosterDF/settings.php in the error, it says:

modules//settings.php
checked the code, the code is fine, but going directly to the addon's upload page isn't a solution..

perhaps a stand-alone upload page could be introduced, and set in a folder with user/pass settings via .htaccess & .htpasswd files, then the uniuploader can be used, and a user/pass set to allow for guild uploads, or per-user upload of character lua's

just an idea

ArmorySync issue:

error:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /htdocs/modules/WoWRosterDF/addons/ArmorySynch/simpleparser.php on line 21

php.ini file has max execution time set to 90 seconds.
is there another timer being introduced in the script somwhere?
