the URL can be an SV file, a PHP script, a perl script, even a plain text file.

as long as it outputs valid LUA saved variables it will work

it can be a dynamic script outputting dynamic data, it can be anything, even a custom web server built just for joe blows wow item data system mark 5


I think people can't believe that it is that simple.

OK, so it just needs to output SV data.

Does this need to be changed since it has been reported blizz no longer really uses the SV anymore? Prolly something to discuss in the IRC channel.

last thing i heard(and tested true) is that it still uses the main sv file for backward compatibility, so the data will be available to all addons, but disallows addons to write to it.

This is why i gave uu the ability to write to other sv files besides the main one.
