New to this and I can't find the answer

Postby Pops » Mon Apr 02, 2007 2:52 am

I am a new to the wowroster. I cannot seem to get the uniuploader to actually upload my data. I went thru the tutorials and read your forums, but nothing seems to help.
I can click upload and it says "uploading to primary URL. After 5 seconds it gives me the "ready" tag again. Nothing updates though.

The address I am using is the exact same as the one on the roster page with the update options. Is this correct? On the website the page is "http://"mywebpage.com"/roster/update.php

I have my SV set for the character Profile and thats it.
My character account name shows up and I have "autodetect WOW" set. Thats it.
I assume I don't need a password, since the only password is for the admin configurations. I've tried it both ways and it didn't work.

Am I missing a setting? or configuration?
My debugger reads:
[2007/04/01 01:55:52] Uploading to Primary URL...: http://"mywebsite.com"/roster/update.php
[2007/04/01 01:55:52] CharacterProfiler.lua - No Compression. Upload Size: 434 KB
[2007/04/01 01:55:55] Upload Error: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.

Please post if I didn't post any info I have missed that you might need for this to make sense.
Thank you.

take a look at

Code: Select all
http://"mywebsite.com"/roster/update.php

it should be the URL for YOUR domain

What happens if you navigate to "http://"mywebpage.com"/roster/update.php ?

You should get the Update Profile page.

Try updating manually through that page as well - just to make sure it's not your Uniuploader configuration.

yeah, I can get there manually. Typing that url in by hand gets me to my page. I don't think its the url. I copy and paste the url from the page into the url window of uniuploader. I still get the same debug log.

Hi Pops,

I have had a look around the net for this problem and the concensus is that it is a bug in the .net framework.

You might want to try updating the version you have.

Also check if you are using IE that the proxy settings are correct, if not using a proxy then ensure it's turned off.

On another site it mentions that the website might have a proxy and would require authentication.

Sorry I cant give a definitive answer.

Hope that helps,

Hi,
I am having exactly the same problems. I can browse to and upload manually through the website but fail to update when it comes to uni-uploader.

I am using php-nuke and viewing via an Iframe if that helps you at all.

www."wbesite".com/roster/update.php is the url which i am using.

Please help

have you tried it on another computer?

or another router or straight through if possible?

perhaps you're on dial up, dsl, or cable.

I would start with trying windows updates.

would you happen to be using any firewall or proxy software?

is your internet connection going through any "devices" such as a filter or logger?

Just the box that decoded the singal from charter. i have tried using this software before and it has never worked. is there a daemon that has to be on the server for it to work or something?

It may be the configuration of your operating system or the version of .NET Framework installed, please post the header of a debug log.
