Problem with configuration after the instalation

Postby VoodooFX » Thu Apr 12, 2007 11:47 pm

I am using XOOPS and just installed the wowrosterx module with no problems. After that, now i'm having some problems :

1. When i go to the configure page, any link under the Roster Config menu just puts me on top of the admin page. All links (Main Settings, Guild Config, Menu, Display Config, etc) are like this : www,mypage,com/modules/wowrosterx/admin.php#

2. I couldn't figure how to change my guildname and realmname

3. All the links under guildname (Roster, GuildInfo, Stats, Professions, etc) do not work, and they point to www,mypage,com/index.php , /guildinfo.php, /indexstat.php - not www,mypage,com/modules/wowrosterx/... u get the picture

I also have a question :

Do i have to upload my guildprofile.lua before i start the config ?

Thx

EDIT : Nevermind, i managed to solve the problem in the meantime. I had to search through the database entries and modify the xoop_wrx_config table at entry where you specify the roster_path , it's value was NULL and i set it to /module/wowrosterx, and it seems to be working now

That was the correct solution for the problem, the reason it's set to NULL is because the installer is supposed to detect the directory the module is in. This is for users that do not have Xoops in their main server directory. The part I'm concerned with is that the installer did not set the path correctly. Also, you load the CharacterProfiler.lua using your update password, to load the guild into the roster. The default password is xoops. Remember that the password should only be used by the guild master and/or select guild officers. That will help keep the database from getting corrupted.

i managed to get the thing working as intended but i still have a glitch.

the java script that gives you the tooltip is broken or something, because when i hold my mouse on anything that has info, it shows it on the whole screen.

Check my wowrosterx page to see what i mean.

Also, i was wondering if you can help me with the $module.name variable, i cant seem to find it. I need to change that, so that my Main Menu block shows a different name, not "Wow Roster X"

Thx a lot

I am aware of the tooltip problem. I have not yet been able to fix this error, however in future releases this will hopefully be fixed.

To change the module name on the menu just go to your module admin section and change the name of the WoW Roster X module and click submit. That should change the name on the menu for you.

Just to let u know, i found out why i didnt get any data in my table regarding the website address and the module location. i've opened the wrx_mysql.sql file and there is NULL on both, so it wasn't some random thing, the data is missing from the tables.

The MySQL table is supposed to be empty. The installer script is supposed to detect and set that table on install. If you look at the install_funcs.php file you will find a few lines to detect the location of the settings.php file then save it to the DB. I still think it was just that it couldn't read the directory structure on your installation. However it doesn't matter too much anymore, the final version will include a setting for the Roster path. (Without a proper path the settings page will not show any settings.)
