jUniUploader: Alpha -> Beta

Postby lhunath » Sat Apr 21, 2007 7:39 pm

jUniUploader will now move from Alpha to Beta.

I need a lot of input from the jUniUploader userbase to find any and all possible problems with it so that I can prepare the final release of it.

Also, if there are any more things YOU would like to see in jUniUploader before the release, this is the time to ask.

a bit off subject but still. I would like to see a roster addon that uses the web start so our users can just click the menu button for the jUU addon to start up the webstart then upload.

I think adding post variables should ask for post variable name, then value, then offer to md5() hash the value
Next, remove the secure login checkbox since md5'ing would be handled on a per post variable basis

There is a slight graphical bug
I right clicked in the "Upload URLs" box to edit a upload url
The edit screen pops up, then I hit cancel
And as soon as I click on any other box, button, text field, the "Upload URLs" box disappears
I cannot access this box until I restart jUU
OS- Windows XP Pro SP2
Java 6

If I maximize the jUU window, I cannot close the window using the close button, I have to use Alt-F4

WoW=>Web support
To be honest, I'm not sure how UU handles this, you'd have to ask Matt M

How exactly is that different from using the currently provided WebStart features of jUU? A simple link starts jUU pre-configured for your roster; the jUU installs CharacterProfiler with the push of a button and launches WoW.

Can't see how I could make it any easier :)

Resolved; thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I will look into redesigning the way the post variables are read. Currently it uses a class in my BaseSystem library. I'll see if I can make that class a bit more .. customizable.

jUniUploader is currently going through a lot of work to externalize all the strings.

This will allow for easy translation to other languages. I rely on the community to provide translations at that point, however. I will provide translations for English and Dutch myself.

Yes I hear what you are saying and with the next version it would be easy to create a new link for jUU webstart, but having an addon would also allow a small config section that could rewrite the jnlp with the settings needed while also having a link in the roster menu for jUU(auto updater).

Ah, I see what you are saying now. I suppose that would indeed make it easier; although changing one URL in the JNLP file isn't too hard.

Though the link in the roster could be convenient.

UU provides the ability to write to lua files via a web page
http://www.wowroster.net/wiki/index.php ... .3D.3E_WoW

I do not know how many people use this, but it's a feature in UU

Hi

I have a little problem on a Mac using OSX Java 5. When I try to added a Upload URL, I don't get the pop-up options box that I get when using a PC. So I cannot added the URL :-(

I have tried various CMD, Alt Ctrl and shift clicks with no luck, can anyone help?

You mean you don't get the popup menu? How many buttons does your mouse have?

Damned Macs =) Will try to find a good solution.

Yeah. No pop-up box on the mac. One button on the mouse.

In the mac system a CMD click does the same trick as a right click.

With the same mac & mouse I run a parallels which is a virtual PC, it works ok, when I CMD click. I'm guess it a mac java bug. But not sure.

again thanks
