MOTD questions

Postby PleegWat » Sat Jun 23, 2007 3:42 pm

True. I'm not quite sure what the max length for the MOTD is, and I can't really find out cause I'm not a GM. But I also don't know how narrow some people want the MOTD image to get.

I'd just like to say w00t to the devs! You guys rock! Also, glad I made a useful contribution to the Roster.

Pleeg, I believe the absolute maximum size of the MOTD is 255 characters, but I'm still trying to confirm this.

Rumik wrote:Hi there,

I'm trying to get my guild's MOTD on the frontpage of my site and would like JUST the MOTD. Can someone please tell me how to create a new file that JUST displays the MOTD in text format?

Also, is there a way of making the MOTD image box shorter? The amount of space I have is only about 550 pixels and the text in the mage doesn't wrap.

Thanks :)

Rumik, as I was notified by people about the URL to your website, the Dev team noticed that you are currently not displaying any credits on your site.

Restore credits as you are in violation of the license you agreed on by downloading the WoWRoster.net components.
Here is the license agreement

Is it honestly too much to ask to display credits ?

Regards, Mathos.

Good to hear! :)

I will make sure that the license page is easy to access for others to read as well.

Sorry for the late reply, just ran across this thread. If you are still interested in showing the guild motd on your main page this will work with Roster 1.7.3...If you are using the new beta it will NOT work. Just paste this html wherever you want the motd displayed. ( Obviously change the url in it to be correct for your site/roster install )

Code: Select all
<IFRAME SRC="http://www.yoursitehere/roster/motd.php" WIDTH="100%" ALIGN="MIDDLE" HEIGHT="58" SCROLLING="NO" FRAMEBORDER=NO VSPACE="30">
</IFRAME>
