Troubles in setting permissions for user groups

Postby thyron » Mon Jun 25, 2007 4:54 am

I've just installed wowrosterx under xoops 2.0.16. I'm trying to set up different permission set for each user group... but it tells me that I don't have the rights to do this and kicks me out -.-' I can turn on just a couple of boxes. A roster accessible only for a webmaster is quite useless.... I'm slightly going mad... any suggestion?

EDIT: I've also another annoying problem... it doesn't shows images for items, spells and so on...

Have you set your Group permissions for the module in Xoops System Admin. By the sounds of it you need to give the Webmaster group module admin rights and module access rights. You'll also want to give module access rights to any other user group you want using WoWRosterX.

For your images problem change the Interface Image Extension in the Roster Admin to png.

I hope that helps! And thanks for using WRX!

Troubles in setting permissions for user groups

well... the webmaster group HAS admin and access rights :( so I can't figure what the hell is happening. My user is in webmaster group, has amdin rights on everything... but i can't change permissions :(

it sounds like this module doesn't recognize me as admin in AM_WRX_ADMENU2

Troubles in setting permissions for user groups

I was quite determinate to solve this problem this morning... so i tried a "brute" way. I just logged phpmyadmin and added manually the rows about those permissions in xoops_group_permission table. It was quite boring but useful... I still can't understand why I can't do the same thing using AM_WRX_ADMENU2 -.-'

about the images: interface image extensions IS already set at "-png-" :(

_AM_WRX_ADMENU2 is just the language variable for the 'Page Permissions' label on the menu. Which WRX package did you install? Was it the full package or the no_image_pack version? Have you tried uninstalling and re-uploading the module? I've never seen or heard this problem with the module before. The only thing I could think of is that files may have gotten corrupted during transfer. Also, have you tried all the other image extensions for the interface images? Is there anything in modules/wowrosterx/img/interface/ directory?

Troubles in setting permissions for user groups

i used the full version (with images). I also tried to remove it and re-uploaded and re-installed the module and nothing changed. I don't know if this is caused by something wrong in my host (netsons.org).

about the images... even if I had set the right image type from the web page, i found that it hadn't written anything in the db. I've just set it from phmyadmin and now everything is ok.

in both cases it seems sometimes the db server doesn't recognize me and kicks me out :(

P.S. in xoops control panel, in wowrosterx menu I read:

_AM_WRX_ADMENU0
_AM_WRX_ADMENU1
_AM_WRX_ADMENU2

instead of the label

It does indeed sound like a database error. It also seems it's not properly registering variables (i.e. _AM_WRX_ADMENU0, etc.). Have any other modules shown problems? What version of MySQL and PHP does your hosting account have? Also have you run the Roster Diagnostics (It can give you all the info)? Have you tried running Xoops in Debug mode? You should be able to see any errors and db queries with debug mode on.

Other than checking all that and getting more info, I'm not sure what's wrong. It could be something like a php setting or a MySQL error.
