I'm still a bit new to all this, I was reading through the wiki and it talked about creating a .htaccess file to use mod_rewrite to make nice short urls. This sounds great, problem is I don't know in which directory the .htaccess file should go.

In the root of your site I think
I belive it depends on the path you set in the .htaccess file
