Postby KalFitz » Sun Aug 05, 2007 9:10 pm

Hi, so after some try .... i post ^^

I readed this forum but don't found solution ..

So i installed roster, all is ok.
I installed Guildprofiler and character profiler, all is ok
I saved profile on WoW and it's ok ....

But i just have GuildProfiler.lua files in "wowdirectory\Interface\AddOns\GuildProfiler/GuildProfiler.lua

Same with \World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\CharacterProfiler\CharacterProfiler.lua

But in ....\Kalfitz\SavedVariables i don't have CharacterProfiler.lua :s :s

and with the two first files, that doesn't work to Update the guild member list

1. install addons
2. start wow and log in
3. select a char
4. go to character-screen and hit the save button
5. go to guiltscreen and hit save button
6. log out
7. upload only the characterprofiler.lua from "World of Warcraft-DIR"\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\SavedVariables\

Guys, if you can't find a file but you're sure it's somewhere...what do you do? Right, you use the *search*. Windows has a search function, try it, it works.

If you are running Vista and have WOW installed in the Program Files directory then you might try looking in a hidden folder (Search won't find it) under C:\Users\LoginName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\AccountName\SavedVariables for your addon files such as GuildProfiler.lua and CharacterProfiler.lua.

Vista stores them here by default instead of the WTF folder under the World of Warcraft program directory. You may have to select folder options and then view and tell Vista to show hidden files and directorys in order to see it. You can't find it via the Search option if its hidden.

Hope this helps. :)

No CharacterProfiler.lua in //SavedVariables to upload

First of all, rpgo - CharacterProfiler v2.3.1a is an addon, supported here: http://www.rpgoutfitter.com/Addons/Char ... ofiler.cfm, as is rpgo - GuildProfiler v2.3.1a.

The output of these addons is used to make WoWRoster alive.

You can not search for another ‘program’: they are ALL (except the Armory) using the same concept, and I’m pretty sure that all WoW IG collectors use Kalvin’s addon, or a modified copy of it :)
Anyway, as you said, it works before, so consider change something – on YOUR side.
The question is: What changed on your side ?

You could consider posting a question here: http://www.rpgoutfitter.com/MessageBoard/

To help me helping you, I have some questions for you.

After the wow login screen, do you see in the bottom left corner the red Addons button?
When you click on it, do you see the CharacterProfiler & GuildProfiler listed, activated and is the version number ok?
When enter the world, do you see a message from CharacterProfiler that its loading?
When you type /cp or /gp, do you see a notification from the concerning addon?

Do you see a red save button on your character’s page? Click on it!
Same thing on your Guild overview page? Clicking on its save button will show some status text – does it?

Do you understand all the command line options of cp and gp?
Get my point - you can instruct cp to skip certain chars.
To undo this, do this:
What you can do to check, and remove ANY WTF settings: rename the WTF directory – with WoW stopped, of course.
WoW will create another one on start-up – with all settings to default, all your addons will do the same.
If this works (you found your files), think about keeping the new WTF directory.
If not, revert back.

Don't worry, the why part is always simple - the complicated one is finding it :D
