addons documentation

Postby Baddice » Sat Aug 11, 2007 7:33 pm

Where can I find documentation about running the addons for wowroster? I mean that the addons do not even say were to put the addons (I thought to put them in the online addons dir and hey, I was right). But what now?
I have a list of nice buttons on my wowroster, and most of them do show the start-up of somelist of something, but notting in it.
How do I install the addons (and why is there not a readme.txt for the addons? To much trouble? Than don't make the addons because that's even more work :? .)

Sorry if I hurt sombody's feelings with my last remark, but I have worked all week on the roster and our Guildwebsite and still I can't find answers (not even in this forum).

So please, after putting the addons in the addons directory, what then?

addons documentation

Documenting properly is a completely different skill from programming an addon.

Usually, you first need to copy the addon to the addon directory. Then, you either need to run a SQL file bundled with it, or it's installer will run if you click its menu button. Some addons do not need installation at all.

Do note, however, that 'normal' roster addons generally do not run in the DF port of Roster.
