When I upload data update.php is deleted

When I upload data either for the guild info or for personal (and when someone else does it too) the update.php file is deleted and then no one can even get to the uploading their profile page.

also I get this wowdb.php - Local version is lower than SVN version.

could that be the problem? and how do I fix this?

please be gentle n_n ive been made the web monkey of the guild and have not a lot of an idea on how this all works. I'm amazed I even managed to get it installed

please ignore about the SVN stuff... I Uploaded the patch >.< sorry for wasting time on that issue..

But I still have the disappearing update.php

also note that I cant access any information about errors etc from my server control panel!

(and yes I did a search and saw that you said its a problem with the host. but they have not replied either. Thought you might have found a solution to this problem from another perspective - maybe a self spawning update.php )

We still have no clue why this happens and without the server error log we have no way of finding out

Could it be a security issue? or a security setting with my servers SQL?

the only other thing I wonder is if its a chmod problem or something...

It sucks that they don't have any way to view errors etc, I have posted in their forums asking for one, or for information on why its happening, Im still waiting for a reply.

It might be a security issue, but I don't think it has anything to do with SQL

I don't get it. The only file touched by update.php is the one you uploaded, and even that one isn't explicitly deleted.

I think it is a security issue? right??

I told them that i would like my open_basedir settings changed so i can run all scripts. But Im still waiting for that to happen, do you think this will solve the problem??

Looks to me like both the site and the html root are in the open_basedir, so that shouldn't cause trouble. The open_basedir is for the safety of their other customers on the same machine and the machine in general, so they aren't going to remove it because your scripts don't work.

AFAIK roster doesn't use is_dir(), and I'm don't think it uses readfile() either.

At what time did you execute the guild upload?

the first one was in the afternoonish, the last one I did was late last night (or early this morning). thats AUZZIE time.
