Could not find guild in database. Please update members firs

Postby terrlock » Sun Jul 23, 2006 5:24 pm

This is my first time trying to configure roster but I'm getting all sorts of errors trying to update the charactherprofiler.lua.

This is the current on I'm on...the documentation says

Characters on the same account, but on other servers will generate errors of
Could not find guild in database. Please update members first.

I don't understand this as the character is in the guild on the same server.

My Server Is The Venture Co.

Do I have a spelling mistake somewhere or has anyone got any ideas ?

Make sure when you are uploading your characterprofiler.lua file you also put in your guild list update password. It is the same one you use to get to roster settings.

If that does not work, go to roster settings and make sure your guild name and server names are spelled correctly. These are also case sensitive, so make sure things are capitalized correctly.

You need to save the Guild Listing using the GuildProfiler AddOn.
Then insert the password while updating, and naturally, make sure you configured roster correctly.

This last statement is why we have a r Forum Rule to include information like a link to your site for example!

Could not find guild in database. Please update members firs

Postby Leviticus » Wed Jul 26, 2006 9:03 pm

I had this problem when I was setting mine up. My Guild name is Dawn Of Osiris and I was typing in the Guild name with a lowercase 'o' instead of an uppercase 'O' on the word 'Of' in the Roster Config page.

Once I realised this dumb mistake, the GuildProfiler worked fine as did the rest of the update sequence.

Hope this helps :)

Look out for server config issues too.
If you have open_basedir enabled, ensure you edit the upload_tmp_dir in your php.ini to be under the basedir.

This was my issue when the guildupdate whould not output anything. Fixed this and it has been fine since :)
