Please vote.
I voted No because I think (I may be imagining things) administrators to be sure that if it is UU traffic, the User Agent isn't spoofed.

I say no
Roster depends on the user agent of UU to display the update log correctly

Unless UU can display an html response page, I stick to no

I vote yes because my host doesn't allow all user agents. Any time the agent of the UU changes (each version change) I will have to ask them to allow a new agent. Why not allow custom agents and let Uniadmin determine which to allow?

I vote yes since it's really trivial to spoof UserAgents anyway and it allows for more customization like useful in Knappster's case.

I'm on the border on that one, I would say yes, but only allow to be set by UA and not even make it changeable in UU. That way it can be set correctly for each server config.

Also, it would probably be a good idea, to either A) pull the appropriate value out of the UA config for roster, so it knows the user agent, or B) add an option to roster config to be able to set what the user agent should be.

A would require both to be installed to the database, but B would probably be easier..

Food for thought... I was using phpuniuploader & WoWRoster 1.7.3 on a site that wouldn't allow custom agents out of the ordinary to connect. So I used a custom agent that was a mozilla browser.

I recently decided to switch to a new host and took the opportunity to update WoWRoster to the new 2.0. My roster was not updating anymore. I don't know if it was the characters in the agent or that it just didn't match UniUploader* but once I switched it back to 'UniUploader 2.0' it is updating fine.

So even if you allowed custom agents, it may not work with Roster 2.0

Roster is coded to detect the certain user agent in UU and returns output specific for UU

That explains why the phpuniuploader last upload log was the html output of the site when I was using firefox as an agent. People using free hosts just need to be aware that some of them only allow certain user agents. Byethost.com is one of them.
