You should focus first on a stable addon, and features that work with STOCK Roster 2 and DFphpbb/phpbb3.
Once you start fooling around with modded versions of either, this taking you down a path that can make you crazy.
People might expect a consideration for every phpbb/roster mod out there.

I myself MOD my roster2 and phpbb3 stuff, BUT I don't expect developers of addons to make it compatible with every change I make. That responsibility should rest on MY shoulders, to make it work. I was the one that made the decision to MOD any of it, and in doing so I should accept the risks.

Don't let your brain explode and have fun. You're doing a great job.

Very good advice, same advice we follow as well.

People wonder why the Dev team of Roster doesn't port Roster to every CMS under the sun, or implement every addon that was made for Roster in the base code.

Because Roster would be a buggy mess and would never be completed in a timely fashion.
Plus our heads would explode...

Sage advice. I'll stop adding stuff and get it working properly first.

This is why I never finish stuff...

I take it from this that the phpBB sync that's available for downloads does not work with phpBB3?

A way to sync ingame members with website groups for permission control is the last thing I need to complete the new guild website.

The old website is using wowroster 1.X with the old phpbb sync code and it works beautifully for phpbb1.5

However without this key piece of technology the website is basically useless. I barely have time to do roster updates once a week to update website permissions. If I had to do it manually everytime someone left/joined/or was promoted in the guild It would probabally look something like the coding for everything head explosion.

Since this is the last thing I have remaining for the site I would like to offer my help, if possible, but I have done almost no modding of the phpbb3 forums and the code looks significantly differant in style and structure from previous phpbb versions.
