Hi I've been trying to install the roster on my website for a couple of days and keep geetting different problems.

firstly could get it to load past step 2 of the installation then earlier today managed to get to step 3 then couldn't go to the roster config.

now if I type in for the conf.php I just get a blank screen and if I go to the roster main page I get:

Could not connect to database "stephen-dr.evil-burstow_uk_db"
MySQL said:
1102: Incorrect database name 'stephen-dr.evil-burstow_uk_db'

now I've checked and when installing had theinformation in a seperate window so I know the database is right,

also tried rearranging the code as suggested in another post any help would be great .

I may try deleting the conf.php re adding the install bits and trying again.

well i dont know but i'm thinking it might have something to do with your host and your PHP.ini and i highly doubt with your host

Most likely your problem is Your DB host.

This is what is in my conf.php file.

$db_host = "p50mysql137.secureserver.net";
$db_name = "phpnuke15";
$db_user = "phpnuke15";
$db_passwd = "********";
$db_prefix = "roster_";

Your Host needs to be directed to their SQL Server. Otherwise you won't be able to connect.

I've got a database there have gone in and seen it, It has 21 tables showing up so I think it's a linking issue my conf.php file looks essentially the same as yours so not sure possibly might be a version issue.

not sure what to do but think just need to work out how to get it to comunicate with each other properly.

I'm not saying you dont have DB.

Please post what you got in your conf.php file with the exception of password.
