Error while parsing CharacterProfiler after 0 seconds

Postby nicoxnoise » Thu Jun 05, 2008 3:19 pm

hello everybody,

first of all thanks for this web application!

today i've installed the new wowroster version:

roster_20b_svn1785

no problem to install the application but when i want to upload my cp.lua i've got this message:

Error while parsing CharacterProfiler after 0 seconds
[/tmp/phpWZoBNp] does not exist or is not readable by PHP

it seems that the tmp folder does not exist and can't be created.

with the older version i had the same problem and i could fix it with this solution:

http://www.wowroster.net/Forums/viewtopic/t=2860.html

thanks a lot for your answers

The dir does exist, but you're probably under an open_basedir restriction. The official workaround is telling your host to add /tmp to the open_basedir allowed directories.

first of all, thank you for your answer,

i check the php info and the value of open_basedir is ON.

I've found the php.ini on my server but i didn't find the string about open_basedir.

On the old version of wow roster there was a perfect solution for this problem,is there the same solution for the new version?

the version of wow roster change with time, but my server is always the same :d and encounter problems on new web application.

i use free eos server and i can't modify the PHP.INI,i have to create a template custom with the new values and i have to expand it and it's really difficult for a novice like me.

thanks a lot for your answers

The solution is the same for Roster 2.0, it just has to be modified for the new update process

1) Modify or have modified open_basedir in php.ini

2) Implement the uploaded file workaround

I will update the post you linked for a Roster 2.0 solution

There might be problems with this fix
I used the tmp_name value which might be making additional folders if you use the modification in it's current form

Let me take a look at this again, I will post in a bit

Official fix page updated again, it should not require a tmp folder in the cache directory for Roster 2.0
