Deletion of Addons

Postby KaguraS » Thu Sep 11, 2008 4:02 am

I dont know if UU and UA can do this, but.... this is what happen

UA did UU to download some addons... now I deleted those addons from UA. Isnt supposed that UU had to delete those addons from the HardDrive ?

I look at the uniadmin_addondel table, and there is nothing... no data, is that right?

UA will not tell UU to delete addons when they are removed from UA
You must manually enter addon names to be deleted in UA

Although, this is a good idea...

This brings to mind a question I had, that wasn't clearly explained in the documentation. When you say "addon names", what EXACTLY do you type in? The name of the .ZIP? The name of the addon in the .TOC (and which one for addons like Auctioneer that have a dozen sub-folders)? What you called it in UniAdmin?

There is a lot of room for abiguity here.

I think it is the name in the TOC file? You're right about ambiguity, but how would you facilitate this?

I'm not sure either. I think the biggest problem stems from UniAdmin's handling of addons with multiple folders. If there were some way to have it better recognize those, it's easy to make sure it's handled the same way each time. That would let you define a better usage convention.
