update.php Understanding, need minor help.

Roster installed, updated and working for *some* users.

Seems my phpBB connection is correct and best I can tell, so are my group numbers.

But, I guess I need to ask:

1. I assume members must log into the forum first? Then update profile?
2. Does their phpBB username have to be the same as their character name, or at least one of their character names?

As I mentioned, some users had no issue updating, but one says he cannot and all he gets is a blank log screen after pressing update.

Suggestions?

I dunno what you are talking about

The only place roster uses phpbb is if the upload auth is turned on in roster config

How does it know the person trying to update is valid?

When its activated, they enter their phpbb username and password on the roster update screen

Anyone in the groups specified in roster config in the update access section

Ok, forgive me, I must be an idiot.

I have the phpBB feature on, and yet I see no spot to log in via the update page: http://www.grungyape.com/bmr/roster/admin/update.php

Am I missing something, did I perhaps set something wrong?

The Officer password works as expected, and some users have updated.

"Allow Access to Update" in roster config should be set to "OFF" when you want phpBB update access "enabled"

I know this isn't worded well and will be changed for roster 1.7.1

Now if only someone knew how to help me get this setup rigged for saaaay a guild that runs Invision Power Board (i know i know a minority here

)

*wipes brow* man i must say 1.7 though looks very nice (im upgrading from pre 1.5 lol)

Well, the phpbb auth is being removed in 1.7.1 due to the exploit found a few months ago
We just decided to drop it completely

But Roster 1.8 will have it's own auth system that can be extended to use auth in a CMS (we won't code it but others can)
