Ok guys when I try to run step 2 I get the following;

Looks like some files were not uploaded properly

you were right got it working now thanks

I had the same error, and one cause appeared to be my roster user's inability to drop tables from the database. After granting the user drop privileges, everything worked fine.

Wel, if the uploaded files are ok, then test:

Can you use a tools like phpmyadmin to connect to your database ?
Is it empty (or: are you not about to re-create the tables again ?) ?
The user that you use to connect to the database, has he enough rights (like CREATEing tables and DROPping tables etc ?

I am having the exact same problem with ver 2. I have uploaded all the files multiple times, even using filezilla. No resuslt. Getting the exact same error as Leorg.

I did connect to phpmyadmin and do have all priviledges.

I presume that Leotg found what was 'different' with his setup, and he corrected that. (I do not presume that he is kidnapped, lost the adress of this forum/site... - or whatever just to say "yes, non, still no go - progress, etc.. -)-)

What do these errore mean : the first : my_sql bailed out with and error (mostly : no server there at that adress, server does not accept me, no database, etc)
Subsequent error indicate that the main, major object named $roster does NOR exist. This is bad, because the main roster file, settings.php is NOT included when running the roster or the install, so the object $roster does not exists - this means majour troubles.

As Zanix already said : this means for 99 % a wrong upload (files not there, not readable, etc)

1 - install anvicat free ( try find it in google -> tag ( navicat free))
2 - try log in on your MySQL - > user root pw : (blank) or your created user
3 - if logged in - check Attributes permissions, mark all
4 - enjoy


5 - IF YOU CAN NOT LOG IN IN USER ROOT OR YOUR CREATED USER, CHECK YOUR MYSQL - cuz it is the PROBLEM

delete conf.php
recreate a blank file called conf.php with read and wright atrbutes
run install agian

for some reasion the user and pass may not be saved in the file and doing this will fix the issue maybee

Guys, I had had similar problem. But I've found the fix, just leave two bottom fields (for database creation username/password) and you'll see Step 3.
