Adding Columns to "members" table

Postby Medar » Tue Aug 01, 2006 10:26 pm

I just added 4 columns to my "members" table (the one the Guildmaster updates). Basically I am going to use these 4 columns to manually track attunements to MC, Ony, BWL, and Naxx.

Why? Not 100% of my guys and gals update, and in this way I can 'flag' people I have confirmed are attuned properly. Easier than relying on the Keys page and it helps us schedule those that are not attuned.

My question is will adding columns at the end of the Members table affect the regular updates to the members table? I have never dug too deeply into the update.php code.

Thanks.

No, as long as you add them at the end of the colums.. it shouldn't have any effect.

though i'd prolly create a new table ;)

Adding Columns to "members" table

Actually have not come across any issues thus far.

I added MC, ONY, BWL, and NAX columns to the end of the members table.

http://www.bladekeep.com/wow/roster/index.php

Even did a small hack to the roster config and made those values updateable from the Roster Config (it updates similar to setting individual show/hide BG, Talents, Bags, etc).

Adding Columns to "members" table

Yep Thumann, that is all it is. Small and simple - I really did not want it to be too obtrusive.

Basically the MC Vial and the Ony Head tell me (and others in my guild) whether a particular member has been attuned or not. Gives us a good planning tool to get the others attuned.

I have BWL and Nax in there, just did not display them (no need yet, we are not quite done with MC).

Mendar,

Can you post the changes that you made so some of the others of us that would like to implement this can do so? I really like the way it looks.

Thanks
