We are moving our web server once again.
In order to reduce our hosting costs, we are moving to a virtual dedicated host, this will reduce our monthly payment to $60 a month.

We will also be hosting a few other sites on our new server to further reduce our donation needs.
So expect some downtime over the next week as we move, and expect a nice surprise when we are finished moving.

Glad to hear you're able to reduce the costs. Let me know if you need any technical assistance during the move. (Of course, I'm pretty aware you've got it covered, but I thought I'd offer.)

Just a question :

$60 a month... that about 50 € to me (right ?)
And I know that wowroster.net was running on servers that cost more then the double of that.

I know that the choice is good, up time is an important issue, your current host does its job very well.

But look at this : http://www.ovh.co.uk/ (English site, but host is French - and they're awful big, taking over the entire Europe - interconnecting all main cities with their own back bones)
10 or 20 € à month for a private animal, 60 for a dedicated with nice specs.

What are you using right now, what were you using before (was even more $$) ?

I know that the wowroster.net needs a rather big powerful server, I wonder what the usage statistics are ....

No critics here about you guys choosing your host, but are prices higher on the other site the the ocean ?

Btw : just mentioning OVH because I know them, I've several servers from them.

Btw2 : let the surprise be : very small down time please ;-)

$60 is about 44€.
We are also going to be hosting other sites, all of us devs are putting our personal sites on this server after the move.
We may also attempt to offer hosting ourselves.
