Okay, I think I have got everything in place, but for some reason the signatures are not saving, so I've obviously missed something.

So far I've done:
Downloaded and extracted the addon to the addons directory - same as every other addon
My roster/cache has a chmod of 777
Changed the chmods of ava, sig and img/members to 777
In the RosterCP/siggen/main settings turned on the auto-save on character update (and the fix for uniuploader)

I can preview the signatures in the control panel and on the character screen.
If I upload the wowroster.lua file through the roster update profile it clearly shows the message
Saving signature -[thumbnail]- and shows the thumbnail of the signature.

There are no errors I can see, but no signatures are being saved.

I have left everything else at default
The Saved Images Directory reads %ssig/
If I hover ofver the ? it tells me that the actual directory is /home/....../roster/addons/siggen/sig/

Any help would be appreciated

Why is it you have one of those lightbulb moments as soon as you hit submit.
I was not seeing any files created for 2 reasons
For some bizarre reason my FTP program wasn't refreshing properly and showing me an empty directory when it wasn't - it decided to show them once I had disconnected and reconnected.
The reason I wasn't seeing the signature after pasting the link was that somewhere along the lines I managed to remove a double quote. Firefox was not showing me the broken tag, but as soon as I tried it in Internet Explorer the tag glared out at me as plain as day.

It's early in the morning, I've only had 2 mugs of coffee, my eyes are still blurry, I had too much beer last night, and any other excuse I can possibly think of
