Alt Guild Title Need Help.

Postby tonk » Sun Aug 13, 2006 3:05 pm

I have all my Alt's under a Alt guild title then in their note Their mains name. How would I setup altmonitor to work with this configuration?

Assuming the main name is always the first word in the note:

Code: Select all
/([\w]+)/i

Set no result and invalid result to Main and it'll work, though it'll give errors if there's something else in a main's note.
Or put the word 'Main' or similar as the first word in main's notes and in the main identifier setting, and leave the no/invalid result settings at default.

Alt Guild Title Need Help.

Postby Tupsi » Mon Sep 04, 2006 7:04 pm

hmm, i have the same task at hand but its not working:

alts get guild_title "Alt" and in the public note is the main character name.

I entered as you suggested:

Code: Select all
/([w]+)/i

and both radio buttons to "main".

when I hit "update relations" i get a lot of stuff basicly saying that everyone is main of himself with only a few exceptions saying something like

Woolworth has main w
Woolworth is an alt to w
Woolworth has invalid main name w, so we're making him a main. He doesn't have alts.

where the note of that Woolworth only says "Galloway" as can be seen here:
http://www.fraternitas-ferreus.net/rost ... AltMonitor

so i am a little clueless about what i am doing wrong? I was first thinking maybe my server doesnt now what PCRE means, but designated section of phpinfo() says

pcre
PCRE (Perl Compatible Regular Expressions) Support enabled
PCRE Library Version 6.4 05-Sep-2005

I will be trying out the suggested ALT-[mainname] when i get home, but any help on this would be nice.

You're missing the \ in front of the w
