Unable to link Sigs in phpbb

Postby rogue329 » Tue Aug 15, 2006 1:05 am

Everything seems to be set correctly but the images are not showing up in user signature areas.

Siggen appears to be creating the images correctly from the roster because I can view them in IE and Firefox by just typing the link into the address window. However when I attempt to add them to my profiles using the [img]call%20in%20phpbb%20I%20just%20see%20'.

We can link to the saved images but then they are not updated unless the administrator goes in and hits update. I know that we had this working on a previous site but for the life of me I cannot remember what the catch is.

I ran rosterdiag and these are the results.

From what I remeber phpbb does not allow showing of image links with ".php" etc in them, as in they have to be solid image files, eg .png.gif etc. If that's not what your problem is then I apologise.

Alternatively, you can try to use these:
Signature: http://www.yoursite.com/roster/addons/s ... hp/Bob.png
Avatar: http://www.yoursite.com/roster/addons/s ... hp/Bob.png
NOTE: This method for accessing siggen does not work on all servers

If that doesn't work, read the additional info in this section of the WiKi:

You can also try enabling HTML in the PHPBB admin forum config and then use <img src="http://www..."></img> - that works for me

I setup mine to generate when the CP.lua was uploaded and save them to a directory. Then all of my people point to their saved images directly instead of to the php file. This also saved on some of the processing time that each call to get the image viewed took. If you have a small guild this might not matter, but I have 350 members and that is a lot of generating all the time when they are all using them (well some of them do anyway. :) ).
