internal server error 500 when running install.php

When i try to run install.php i get a 500 Internal server error? Anyone know why? All files are set to readable/exec but I dont have access to shell so I can't run $ chmod a+rx -R *.php is there anyway to do it without shell access?

Do you have access to some form of error log and does it contain any error messages relevant to this?

i checked the error log and nothing.

I am also having the same issue. Install goes well until I have to update the config.php.

Keeps giving me internal error 500.

any help would be very much appreciated.

I found the CHMOD was wrong, and re chomodded it to 755; however, now i get

Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /roster/admin/config.php could not be found on this server.

Apache/1.3.36 Server at www.flawless-guild.org Port 80
