uploading error

Postby Smokinya » Tue Aug 29, 2006 3:51 pm

Greetings,

When I try and do an upload I get the following error

Cannot update Character Data
1406: Data too long for column 'ranged_range' at row 1

Anyone seen this error before?

by chance anyone seen this error? I am the guild master and seem to be 1 of 2 people unable to upload. It has something to do with my char and I dont know what. I have tried from 3 differant system to upload.

My GF has no issue uploading at all. So I tried it from hers and still the same error. Any help would be great.

uploading error

Never seen it

Have them do the following
Get the newest version of CP (as of this post 1.6.1)
Type this in WoW
Code: Select all
/cp purge all

Then re-upload CP.lua

I have loaded the new CP at first thinking that might be my issue. When I still got the error I then did the /cp purge all. Sadly this didnt fix the error.

I used to get an error labeled "0:". Needless to say, I had no idea where to begin. I changed my config to allow access to update.php, instead of using phpbb2. Then, the error I got was the same 1406 error you're seeing. I took a gamble and opened the roster db. In the roster_players table I changed the type of field for ranged_range from VARCHAR(16) to VARCHAR(32). So far, updating is working fine now. I can't claim this is the correct way to fix it but it's working now for me.

This fix worked for me as well. I had a clean (new) install of roster 1.7 and the latest characterprofiler 1.6.1 when the error occurred on one of my character uploads.
