DF Guild Application w/ Recruitment Block

Postby gyrantol » Wed Apr 18, 2007 7:51 pm

I could not get this working so I installed Forums Pro. Which was a pain in the backside because I had to rename columns in my database just to get it to install. But I am glad I did it is working like a charm.

Thanks for a really great mod :)

@anaxent

i did not get any errors, it just doesnt work (btw. i wrote all one or two posts before ;) )
errors in my Dragonfly DF:
- "reset form" Button doesnt work
- if you forget any required field you get the correct information but then some fields were empty or filled with stupid stuff.

- i didnt get an email
- I dont have a new post in ForumsPro with the Form

- Rank strukture and Raiding information Link a interchanged (just interchange the comments in appconfig.php)

little thing:
- for those who do not use wowrosterdf the Picturelink is inkorrekt

DF Guild Application w/ Recruitment Block

Postby serpens » Wed Apr 25, 2007 7:00 am

Beautiful. I installed it on the temporary guild site (until I can find a permanent domain for it) and it worked flawlessly. I have some formatting issues I need to deal with (whether to switch to a 3 column layout, etc.)

Scilla | Venomous

If I get a bit of time I'd like to contribute to the project as well. I would like to see it post to its own tables instead of relying on a forums app. On the other hand, that would require writing permissions, and a module, and such; whereas posting directly to forums utilizes all of the forum capability for that. So I'm still on the fence on that issue.

Regardless, great mod!

I not a coder, but I have been trying to create permissions to set recruitment desirability within the Application module so I can delete the Recruitment Settings part.

Some other things I have been playing with unsuccessfully is adding support for more games(similiar to how eqdkp does), and creating an admin area to set variables instead of the config.php file. Like I said, I am no coder and have been busy with RL stuff lately.

hmm
@anaxent
could the problem be, that im not using the newest dragonfly??
i use 9.0.6.1 because upgrading is not really possible without losing many things.

I'm just curious what you would lose. The big issue with upgrading to the latest version of Dragonfly is theming issues. I know a small number of modules have been known to have issues but most have been fixed by now, if that is what you are worried about.

I would suggest copying your site (database & files) then attempt to upgrade and see what, if any, issues you run into. I went to your site and you don't appear to have any modules that break in the latest version. The only thing I would really test is your theme.

hmm, i had problems with the functionality of Dragonfly itself, for example:

- cant configure Blocks anymore
- Missing month in Forums

and so on. But im installing a new Site with the newest Dragonfly. I will see if the Application works properly there =) .

I think that's a theming issue. The newest version of DF uses some java script function to allow you to drag n' drop the blocks on the list to where you wanted them to be, the same issue effects the "CPG Main Menu" area in the admin section. They also added that new admin menu (another java script).

I know my theme (wrote it myself) had lots of issues so I had to update it. I know other themes didn't have any issue.

As for missing a month of posts, that sounds strange.. The missing posts were from ForumsPro2 right?

DF Guild Application w/ Recruitment Block

Postby Deeo » Fri Apr 27, 2007 6:58 pm

hi,

first of all, thanks for all that help.

i tried all Themes, even with the standard Dragonfly theme i got the same error. The Month missing was an error in the normal Forums, but it was a Language error with the german-php file. they didnt fixed it yet.

Both were just examples, there are a lot more issues (coppermine, p.e.)

In the german community they disadvase against upgrading from dragonfly 9.0.6.1

So yesterday i set up a new Dragonfly with new Boxes and until now everything works fine. Later at home ill try to install wowrosterdf (in past, i never get the siggen worked). And after that the Application. If erverthing works fine, We know that wowrosterdf and Recruitment only work with Dragonfly 9.1.2.1

and again: THANKS for the help !!

greetings
Deeo

PS:
ah new site:
New Site
And how did i get this ServerProfile sig?

DF Guild Application w/ Recruitment Block

Postby Deeo » Sat Apr 28, 2007 2:41 am

so hi again.
first of all, i installed wowrosterdf and application works fine,

--> Forum Post Worked
--> Reset Form Worked

--> email doesnt worked
--> "Rank Structure" uses "Raiding Information Link"

so, i will test your last application without WoWRosterDF later, But it seems that you have to use Dragonfly 9.1.2.1, WoWRosterDF and ForumsProV2
