i'm trying to install roster2.0 since build 1395, but it just don't work.

when i want to go to the control panel to set the roster up (this is a fresh install), i get the 403 error.

Help, i truly want to use 2.0.

I changed all php permission to 755 (manually), and it still give me the 403 error.

I have exacly same problem. i even tried to do something stupid like give all files 777 rights, and didnt help

Your problem may be that your host does not allow files such as .htaccess and .htpasswd and automatically sets them as Forbidden (aka 403 error). Roster uses a .htaccess file to enable the servers mod_rewrite engine and set the conditions and rules for the engine. I believe that could cause viewing files outside the base directory to return a 403 Forbidden error.

that could be it. if the .htaccess is absolutely needed, then i have to change host.

I saw in the FAQ of the host that he forbide dot files.

The .htaccess file is used to create nicer urls. They can be removed.

If you've turned SEO urls on, you'll have to either go into the database to turn them off or reinstall. There is no way to turn off SEO urls if they're on and don't work.

for the benefice of all, i resolved the problem by switching host.

I also found a free host that allows Temporary Tables creation. If it bugs, just ask the admin.
