UniUploader Preconfigure

Ok, I am a bit confused. While reading the Advanced Documentation on the wiki, I came across the suggestion that you can "Preconfigure" the UU and then distribute to guildies. I have some VERY non technical people and I wanted to know how to pull this off, seeing that the install program is an exe.

I have UniAdmin set up on the server, and I have all the necessary settings. I assume that I will need to distribute the settings.ini file, but is there a way to include this in the install? Or am I going to have to provide directions to have them enter the url and click the update my setting check box?

I see no documentation on this at all, anywhere.

Maybe its me that missed something, but how do I use that NSIS script to distrubute basic settings to my guildies?

The NSIS script is a packaging tool to make an installer rather than just a zip. It has nothing to do with pre-configuring UU.

Uhm, but why would I package UU if not to include my own settings? Also this thread is called UniUploader Preconfigure, and the link seems to help carlpalmer to get his settings distributed - Im just wondering how I use this NSIS script.

That is not what I needed. Hmm what I need is a thread on how to Preconfigure the UU and then distribute to guildies. I did it a few months ago and there was a thread about it.

set up your uu the way you want your guildies' uu

remove 3 items from settings.ini

FILELOCATION
EXELOC
SELECTEDACCT

zip up that folder, or compile a new installer using the NSIS script

yeah a Full guide for both Uniadmin and Uniuploader would be good.

a Little more detail on the Web -> WoW section would be nice.

Now Matt.. When ya say Remove do you mean completely Remove the line on those 3 items or just remove the value after the = sign??

If you remove the whole line then I would assume when a user sets up Uniuploader and the Auto detect WoW is set it will re-populate these variables and there values?
