Will this work with godaddy?

I have GoDaddy and just migraded off of a personal server, the problem you're experiencing is probably one of pointing at the right database.

Look at Blooddoll's post above with the GoDaddy picture in it. Next to the top database you can see 3 pictures under "actions" (Next to the open manager button".

The FIRST of those pictures if you click it will bring up a box that will display a PHP Connection snippet of code. In it you will see the Database, Login and Most Importantly, SERVER that your database resides on.

GoDaddy is a HUGE host, they own some 3 million domains and host several hundred thousand of them on the GoDaddy hosting servers. As even the most BASIC GoDaddy hosting account provides several databases, imagine the total number of MySQL database Instances that must be hosted throughout all of GoDaddy, i'm guessing the number is pretty close to 7 digits. You simply couldn't host that many database instances on one server. Databases then are created across hundreds of GoDaddy MySQL database servers, the server your database is created on is random depending on load, time of creation, and open space. 2 of my 6 databases were created on the same server (server 183), the rest of them were created on different MySQL Servers entirely.

There is no post you can follow to the letter to get this setup perfectly for GoDaddy. You will have to understand what server your database resides on, what it's Database Name, User name and Password are so that you can correctly connect to the correct MySQL server.

Use the PHP code snippet that is provided to you to obtain the settings for the correct server, user, account, etc for your wowroster to hit...THEN try to navigate to it and see if it won't install for you.

The first thing it's going to do is try to verify the database connection, if you arn't getting anything setup and no message to create the tables for your DB, this is about 90% probably your problem.
